GOT HIM!!!!! I heard the trap spring at 2:30 AM. Dashed out thinking he had sprung it without getting caught. THERE HE IS!!!!!A TRAPFUL! I head back to bed thinking we'll take care of him after my run. He is jumping around so much that I can't sleep, so BC goes out and throws the towel over the trap (remember this trick from trapping the squirrels?). He tells me when he came back to bed, "I told him he made a BIG mistake screwing with you." Finally get back to sleep and sleep the sleep of the Happy Hunter.
As I exclaim my GREAT news to the "Runners", I immediately get asked "Where is he and what are you going to do with him." I tell them he is in solitary confinement until his execution. Some are not happy with me and I offer to bring him to their house and release him. When I explain they are creatures of habit, another says "Why don't you drive him about 20 miles and let him go." GIVE ME A BREAK! I do have some agreement that execution is the only answer.
I come home and BC takes care of the job for me. Remembering the need to be green, I will be disposing of his body in an effort to feed the buzzards. I also will reuse the trap for future problems and NOT throwing it away as was suggested by a couple of the runners.
JUST CALL ME THE DILLO KILLER!

Glad you got rid of that damaging pest. You're not the only one killing dillers in their yard. Someone told me today they would have a glass of wine before their diller hunt this evening. Could be a tradition around here in August! Come home from the high school football game and shoot dillers!
Chrome Cowgirl
We know where they all "hang out" over here and I always wished there were grenades at Walmart for people like me who are not as patient as you've been.
