GUESS WHO SHOWED UP FOR DINNER!

I was doing my usual "favorite thing" late this afternoon-out grilling chicken for supper and watering my pot plants. It is a HOT but quiet Louisiana late afternoon. I came in to put the chicken up and when I looked back out on the deck-GUESS WHO HAD SHOWED UP FOR DINNER?

OK-I can HEAR all of you hyper-ventilating! CALM DOWN! This is a harmless rat snake and he is a "GOOD SNAKE". You want these around your house. They eat the little varmints that you DO NOT WANT AROUND!
Here he is going up under the deck to look for his supper. If you live in the woods-YOU HAVE SNAKES! You may not see them, but you probably are not looking then-for they are out there. Hopefully Babs will not look at today's post. She will NEVER come back and water for me if she sees this!
While I was reading today, I decided what my next career should be. People, with more money than sense, are paying for "Life Coaches". OK-THIS I CAN DO! Telling people what to do, when to do it, and how to do it just comes natural to me. Just ask my kids! I can put the damper on all of your "Great Ideas" with a single response and almost with just a look and roll of the eyes. Really, if anyone out there in cyberspace is willing to pay for these services, I think I would be GREAT! I have a long resume and at least a family full of people who will attest to my abilities in this area. Come to think of it, I do believe our running group might give me glowing recommendations also. The family and runners would LOVE to get have someone else become my bossing focus. If you need a "Coach", call BR-549 for the best rates in town!
Remember I said, when you take a week off from exercising you pay. THE BELL TOLLED TODAY! Five miles of pure torture. After 2 miles, I am having to walk a block and then run a block. SLOWEST TIME IN A LONG LONG TIME! I then walked 2 miles. We have a hiking trip coming up in 2 1/2 weeks-WHOA IS ME!
Check late tomorrow for the rules of the Anniversary Contest. Remember only 24 hours of entries.

I HATE SNAKES......we have them all over here. I don't even go in the yard anymore. I should have known as my subdivision name is "woodlands edge". DUH...i have seen more snakes here in 8 months than I saw the whole 20 something years I lived in PA...we were always in the woods in PA. I like snakes you can't see!

Is it bad I send my 4 year old and 1 1/2 year old out to 'sweep' for snakes before I go in the yard???

Wow - I would be scared then scream then faint and then wake up with it on my face and then it would happen all over again - the screaming and fainting that is. My luck being what it is.

Good luck with that.
