Every May the poor Postman must have major back problems from the massive delivery of Graduation Invitations, Wedding Invitations, Shower Invitations, & Mission Trip Solicitations. My mail box overflows with them and I don't get nearly as many as many of my friends do. I travel in a small circle, but I have friends that go to large churches, belong to numerous organizations, work in large businesses & have large families. It can become overwhelming. What a happy time though to have those that you love crossing these milestones in their life or unselfishly giving of themselves to help others.
I was out cutting illeagnus vine early this morning before heading west to St. Rest Baptist Church. Mona, Babs & I spent a few hours with beginning decorations at the church. Babs & I came back to Ruston to pick out a couple of more ferns and pick up the flowers. I came home and made the pew bouquets. I love doing this, but I am slow. Practice should make me faster, HUH? As we were driving away from the church, Babs commented on the charm that country churches have. We will never duplicate that with our big-ultra modern -the latest and greatest urban churches. The essence of decades of community permeates from the very building itself. It should be a wonderful wedding!
Our friend, Dale is in ICU suffering from pneumonia. The doctor thinks he will be there about 10 days. Hopefully Helen will be able to get some badly needed rest while he is there. His new eye activated computer should come in tomorrow, but the training will have to wait until he is home again. It will be great for him to be able to communicate with us again. I know he is looking forward to not having to struggle with trying to help us read his lips. We are praying for God's mercy for them both.
