CAMP CONVILLE-DAY 1

SIL's & I drove to Austin from Dallas after a night of Theater going to pick up #1 & #2 Grands for Camp Conville. Started my trek home around 7 AM Saturday AM with a goal of leaving Austin before 8 AM. That didn't work out, but were on our way by 8:30. For some reason, the normal 6 1/2 hour trek took 8 1/2 hours. It might have something to do with touring MANY of the restrooms between Austin and Ruston. This has happened once before, and I don't really understand it, but little boys seem to have a fastination with exploring new bathrooms.

We arrived in Ruston around 5 PM, and regrouped quickly to go to brother Noel's July 4th party at the lake. We had a great supper and then waited around to see the fireworks. #1 is pretty rigid about his bedtime and we ended up heading back to Vienna before the fireworks. Headed to bed after showers with Momma Lulu sharing the bedroom with the boys. It's a LONG way from our bedroom to the upstairs suites, so I stay upstairs with them.

We got up early and started Day One of the annual Conville Camp. We had a joint Worship service at the Parish Park with 4 other churches. It was wonderful. Immediately following the service, their was a batism service in the lake. Then the fun began with a hamburger cookout, slides and blow ups and fun in the lake.

We came home for a little "down time" inside during the hottest time of the day. We then went swimming during the late afternoon.

After a supper of yummy nachos and brownies and ice cream, I looked over and the both of them were almost asleep on the couch. It was off for a shower and into bed. As I write, they both are winding down and hopefully nearing sleep. Another day of fun and games tomorrow as day two of Camp Conville begins.
